Governor Brown Announces Appointments

Randy Kajioka, 52, of Sacramento, has been appointed to the Board of Pharmacy,
where he has served since 2001. Kajioka has been a pharmacy project manager at
Kaiser Permanente since 2000, and served in multiple positions there from 1984 to
2000, including chief pharmacist. He was also a pharmacist at Walgreens from 1996
to 2010. Kajioka has been a reserve deputy sheriff since 1983 and he is the
president of the Sacramento Asian Peace Officers Association. He received his
doctor of pharmacy from the University of the Pacific. This position does not require
Senate Confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Kajioka is a Democrat.

Stanley Weisser, 70, of Redlands, has been appointed to the Board of Pharmacy,
where he has served since 2007. He has been an associate clinical professor of
pharmacotherapy and outcomes science at Loma Linda University School of
Pharmacy since 2006. He served as president and chief executive officer of Network
Pharmaceuticals Inc. from 1969 to 2000. He is a member of the boards of trustees
for Redlands Community Hospital and the University of Redlands. This position does
not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Weisser is
a Republican.

Sharon Levine, 65, of Palo Alto, was appointed to the Medical Board of
California
by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2009 and has been
[re]appointed by Governor Brown.  

She has been the associate executive director at Permanente
Medical Group
since 1991 and served as a pediatrician from 1977 to 1991.
Levine also served as chief of pediatrics and chief of quality assurance between 1977
and 1991.  Dr. Levine earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of
Medicine.

Michael Bishop, 61, of San Diego, has been appointed to the Medical Board of
California. Bishop has been director of anesthesia for same-day surgery at the
University of California, San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest since 2008. He has
been an attending anesthesiologist and clinical professor of anesthesiology at the
University of California, San Diego since 2006 and has served as quality officer for
the Department of Anesthesiology since 2008. Bishop worked as a private practice
anesthesiologist from 1992 to 2006. He received his medical degree from the
University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. This position requires

California. GnanaDev has been the president of the Arrowhead Regional Medical
Center since 2007 and chair of the department of surgery since 1989. He is a clinical

professor of surgery at Loma Linda University. He was the president of the California
Medical Association from 2008 to 2009. GnanaDev received his medical degree from
