What is going on here?
The "reputation with specialists" seems to have become a measure
of political, rather than medical, success.
Note that UCLA and Kaiser have poorer survival rates than UCSD,
yet UCLA got three times as many votes from specialists as UCSD,
and Kaiser, with a death rate double that of UCSD, has an equally
good reputation!
The scores are from US News and World Report.
